The Ruppur NPP is a nuclear power plant under construction in the Republic of Bangladesh on the eastern bank of the Padma River, 160 km from the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka. The Ruppur NPP is being designed and built according to a Russian project developed by Atomenergoproekt JSC, which includes the construction and commissioning of two power units with VVER-1200 type reactors. The capacity of each unit will be 1200 MW. On December 25, 2015, a general contract was signed for the construction of the Ruppur NPP in Bangladesh during the visit of Rosatom CEO Sergey Kiriyenko. According to the plan, the first NPP unit will begin operation in 2023. the second is in 2024 .
